About Us:

We offer support and services to local residents, Asylum Seekers, and Refugees in North Glasgow.
As time has gone on our services have changed to reflect the changes which have taken place since we first started over 20 years ago.

We have  a drop in café available where anyone can  come in, have a coffee and meet friends. Whilst there they can shop at the North Glasgow Community Food Initiative's Fruit and Veg 'Barra'

At the moment we are seeing an increasing numbers of Asylum Seekers who have become destitute once they've reached the end of the appeal process.  Though sometimes referred to as "failed asylum seekers" this is a misnomer; we have known many who have submitted a successful fresh evidence that has led to a positive decision on their cases. In order to help people through the difficulties of destitution, we have a destitution support programme within the Project to support up to 15 clients with foodstuffs and toiletries. Though this is a very basic level of support, we are happy that St Rollox has become a hub from which destitute asylum seekers can engage with other organisations that can support them, such as the DASS project and Fasgadh. Please pray that there is a change in asylum policy so that people are supported until their case is fully determined.

We have now on our staff volunteers who are able to offer welfare advice on a Tuesday morning.  This is a drop-in service in the morning with afternoon appointments.

Anyone who wishes to join us at our Wednesday Prayer Meeting is most welcome.  Before the busyness of the day, we take time to listen to how God is speaking to us through the Bible and take a moment to pray for issues -- there is nothing too big or too small!

We have been very fortunate to have a number of tutors who have committed to our ESOL class over the years allowing us to continue to offer a friendly conversational English Class.

Although some of our services have changed over the years the ethos of the Project remains unchanged. The Project is an integral part of St Rollox’s outreach and mission in the local community. As the doors of the church open to welcome people from many different nations, so relationships are built and opportunities made and taken by the many committed Christians on our team to share the Gospel through word and action!
